Software
The iClicker2 software is completely packaged in a single folder and includes the iClicker, i>grader, and searchable help files. The iClicker software is used in class for real time polling. The i>grader is used later for scoring, roster download and sync, and uploading grades. The WebUpdate tool checks for software updates.

Instructor Kit
Pick up your iClicker kit at the ITS Faculty Instructional Technology Center (FIT Center) (AH-1109, 619-594-6348). Your instructor kit contains:

  1. Base receiver and USB cable
  2. One instructor remote
  3. Flash drive pre-loaded with Mac and PC iClicker2 software
  4. Power adapter cord.

Instructor Syllabus Tips
We recommend you add iClicker instructions for students to your syllabus including how to register. Students should understand why they are purchasing iClicker and how the devices tie into your teaching and grading. Students need purchase only one device. Students register iClicker2 remotes from your Blackboard course menu (Tools > Register Your iClicker). Each semester, we send faculty sample syllabus language for regular hand-held clickers and mixed hand-held/web-based clickers along with other start of semester reminders and update notices. Contact ITS Faculty Support if you need syllabus language.

You might want to tell students:

  • Keep extra batteries available (two AA).
  • Put their name on the clicker.
  • Cover the ID number with a piece of clear tape to protect it from rubbing off.
  • Watch video showing how to register at http://clicker.sdsu.edu/movies/registration.mp4. If you cannot view the .mp4, you may need to download a player such as VLC at http://www.videolan.org/vlc
  • If not already registered, register clickers on their SDSU Blackboard course site. If they see a registration date, they have registered properly.
